Some items can't be collected for free. These items are either bulky lightweight items such as rainwater tanks and gutters or items that the recycling centre charges to accept like televisions, gas bottles and tyres.

Even for these items we do our best to offer free solutions.

  • Rainwater tanks can be collected for free if they are cut up into flat panels.

  • Gutters can go for free if they are in straight unfolded lengths of less than 4 meters.

  • Gas bottles attached to barbecues go for free.

  • Tyres attached to vehicles go for free as well.

See below for a list of items that there are fees to collect.

Guttering

  • For free removal gutters need to be cut up into straight stackable lengths no longer than 4 meters.

  • No charge for gutters taken with the roof as well.

  • Folded up unstackable gutters are too bulky to transport for free and a $60 fee will be required for a whole house lot (~70m)

Televisions & Gas bottles

Televisions and monitors are no longer accepted for free by the scrap recycling centres. Gas bottles require valve removal and hole drilling before they can be accepted by recyclers. The following fees apply:

  • Flat panel television under 55 inch $20

  • Flat panel over 55 inch $30

  • Fat TV's old $30

  • Empty gas bottles $15

  • Gas bottles with gas $20

Wire and Mesh

  • Wire fencing and mesh needs to be densely packed in manageable lots for free removal. Small quantities of garden mesh can be folded and trampled to an adequate compaction
    .

  • No fees are charged if the wire or mesh is part of a larger load.

  • Large loads of loosely packed wire and mesh can be removed for a fee. These fees can be quoted based on location and size of load. As a guide within our service area a rural property can expect to pay $100 for removal of a car trailer sized load that weighed 1/2 tonne or less. If it weighs over a tonne there would be no charge.

Incomplete cars

Complete cars are removed for free. Sorry, we don't buy cars and recommend you contact one of the many wreckers advertising if you have a car still worth some money.

Cars that have been stripped of running gear or that no longer roll and steer are charged fees for removal. These fees vary based on location and time involved to load it. As a guide these fees range between $50 and $150 based on your location and the time required to load the vehicle.
